Ventus · Sonus — wind · sound

Hear the ride,
not the wind.

Past 30 km/h, the air rushing over your ears becomes the loudest thing on the road. Vensono is building a small accessory that brings it back down to calm — designed for riders who care how their kit looks.

The road should sound like the road.

Past 30 km/h, the wind roaring over your ears drowns out almost everything else: the car behind you, the friend beside you, the ride itself.

In cycling, wind noise has always been accepted as a given. We don't think it should be.

The first solutions proved it can be quieter. But riders don't wear them, because how you ride is also how you look.

Vensono is building a quieter ride that belongs in your kit, one you'll keep on when the group rolls out.

Until then, we measure, we test, and we listen. Ride with us.

01 — The problem

The loudest thing on your ride is the air.

Wind noise isn't just annoying. It masks traffic, turns conversation in the group into shouting, and wears you down over a long day, often without you noticing until you stop.

We're measuring it properly: a test head with a microphone at ear position, recorded across riding speeds. Results land in the Lab as they come in.

What the research says
85 dBat the ear at just 24 km/h, a cruising pace. The level where hearing protection starts to matter.1
120 dBpeak measured in a wind tunnel at descent speeds, up to 97 km/h.1
Lee sideThe ear facing away from the wind is the louder one: turbulence, not the headwind itself, does the damage.1
On road?Barely studied. What riders are exposed to on real roads is the gap we're measuring into. Results published here.

02 — What quiet gives you

Less wind. Three things back.

01

Safety

Hear the car behind you, and where it's coming from. Catch the call from the rider ahead. Keep the road in your ears, not just in your eyes.

02

Enjoyment

Talk to your group without shouting. No pairing, no batteries. Hear your music, your bike computer, your drivetrain and the road itself.

Performance

Does a quieter head mean a fresher mind after four hours in the wind? We think so, and we're setting up the research to find out.

03 — The idea

The first generation proved it works. Nobody wears it.

Cyclists choose every piece of kit with care: helmet, glasses, jersey, socks. The accessories that quiet the wind today still look like an afterthought, so most riders never try them.

Vensono is building the second generation: an object that belongs next to the best helmets and glasses on the road, and that earns its place by making every ride noticeably calmer.
